Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, a strategic enterprise of Ukraine, should no longer take obscure loans, instead it should establish cooperation with serious private investors in order to stop being unprofitable, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is confident.
"Now we, first of all the government, press again to dismiss the management of Ukrzaliznytsia. And it will be constant until all the management levels change, from the highest to the lowest. Because this company has been bankrupt for many years. And it is only by force, by imprisonment that it is possible to put things in order there," the Head of State said during a press conference.
The President noted that the accumulation of loans taken at high rates in previous years actually led to the bankruptcy of Ukrzaliznytsia.
“Ukrzaliznytsia has a loan debt of hundreds of millions of dollars. They took loans in the amount of 100, 200, 300 million dollars at 10-12%. Before my term - this wasn’t the case during my presidency. One or another "straw company" earned money on this,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said and stressed that this could not be allowed anymore.
