President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the creation of a special fund with the participation of representatives of big Ukrainian businesses to support the medical sector during quarantine.
During the Freedom of Speech program on ICTV channel, the Head of State said that Ukraine now needs rapid tests to detect coronavirus, and soon such a batch will be delivered from China.
"We agreed with China - we are thankful to them, thankful to Jack Ma separately - he helped us by financing $ 80 million. And thanks to Mr. Yaroslavsky (Oleksandr Yaroslavsky - ed.) - we also want to thank him. We expect these rapid tests to arrive in Ukraine on Saturday,” the Head of State said.
According to him, all express test kits will be sent to the hospitals and the military.
Answering the question of the host about the topic of discussion at the meeting of the Head of State with big businessmen, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said: “We urgently need 500 ambulances now. This is the amount that our hospitals lack now. We talked about individual funds. We are making a separate fund. We will need about 12-13 billion UAH for medicines now. We need their help”.
According to the President, a separate program will be developed to minimize the impact of quarantine on small and medium businesses.
"There will be several structural programs for holidays - not to pay big loans, now this program is being developed, we will definitely help (small and medium businesses - ed.)," the President said.
