Ukraine gets ready to launch COVID-19 antibody testing - a report to the President

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine gets ready to approve an algorithm for mass ELISA diagnostics to detect COVID-19 antibodies. This was announced by Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov at a traditional meeting chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on preventing the spread of coronavirus.

According to the Minister of Health, if everything goes according to the plan, antibody testing may begin next week.

The Minister also added that 12 regions of Ukraine have already paid 100% allowance for March to doctors struggling with coronavirus. The remaining regions are making final calculations. Some regions started paying allowances for April, in particular, the Chernivtsi Regional Center for Emergency Care and Disaster Medicine has already received about UAH 19 million.

"I will keep the issue of allowance under control until the last doctor who fights coronavirus receives his allowance for such hard and responsible work," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The Head of State also traditionally heard the report on the situation in the JFO area. In particular, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak said that 78 tons of humanitarian cargo from the International Committee of the Red Cross had been allowed in the occupied territories the day before.
