The Ukrainian delegation led by Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak met with the Turkish delegation led by Spokesperson and Special Adviser to the President of Turkey İbrahim Kalın.
The parties discussed Ukrainian-Turkish relations, the state of implementation of previous agreements, as well as analyzed key bilateral cooperation mechanisms. The talks also focused on priority areas of cooperation and specific projects aimed at strengthening the dynamics of bilateral relations.
The parties stressed the need to intensify work within other mechanisms of bilateral cooperation, including the 12th meeting of the Ukrainian-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the resumption of the negotiation process on a Free Trade Agreement.
Separately, the participants of the meeting discussed relations in the field of defense-industrial complex and intensification of cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense.
Among other things, the parties touched upon the roadmap of key priorities of Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation in 2020.
The Ukrainian party expressed gratitude for Turkey's immutable support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as for the attention that the Turkish party pays to protecting the rights and interests of Crimean Tatars. An example of this is Turkey's willingness to build housing for 500 families of internally displaced persons from Crimea, primarily Crimean Tatars.
