Legislative Changes for Reforming the Medical and Social Expert Commissions Discussed at the Office of the President

A meeting on legislative changes to implement the decision of the National Security and Defense Council regarding the reform of the Medical and Social Expert Commissions was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iryna Vereshchuk.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Social Policy, the NSDC and other agencies, as well as non-governmental organizations that advocate for people with disabilities.

The key topics of the meeting were the dissolution of the MSECs, the digitization of all stages of disability determination, and the procedures and criteria by which this process will be carried out.

"Our people should not have to undergo unclear examinations, wait for months, or pay money for 'assistance' in receiving what is rightfully theirs by law. We must urgently make the necessary legislative changes to prevent any future abuses and ensure that those responsible face strict and fair punishment," said Iryna Vereshchuk.

She urged the parliament, the government, and representatives of non-governmental organizations to focus on legislative work so that Ukrainians can soon see meaningful changes.
