The contemporary art exhibition “Shadow of Water,” dedicated to the 11th anniversary of Crimea's resistance to occupation, opened at the Office of the Crimea Platform in Kyiv.

The opening was attended by Olha Kuryshko, Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea; Olena Kovalska, Deputy Head of the Office of the President; Oleksandr Korniyenko, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; Vahur Soosaar, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Estonia; Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People; exhibition curator Khrystyna Burdym; and Ukrainian singer Mariana Sadovska.

"This exhibition is an important signal of solidarity, reaffirming our support for the people of Crimea and our determination to fight for the liberation of the peninsula from Russian occupiers," Olha Kuryshko stated.

The exhibition features paintings, installations, digital art, and performances, through which artists convey their personal experiences of war, occupation, resistance, and hope.

"My ancestors are Karaites, and for me, the connection with the peninsula is an inseparable part of my identity. I am grateful to the Crimea Platform for this exhibition and for all the efforts that help preserve our culture and remind the world about Crimea," Olena Kovalska emphasized.

The exhibition will run until May 30 and will later be showcased in regions across Ukraine and in partner countries.
