In Irpin, the Head of State inspected the repaired residential buildings that had been damaged during the Russian occupation and talked to their residents

In Irpin, Kyiv region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy inspected the repaired residential buildings that had been damaged as a result of the full-scale Russian invasion in February-March 2022. 

In particular, the Head of State visited residential buildings at 42 Davydchuk Street. These buildings have been overhauled, their supporting structures have been restored, damaged apartments have been repaired and the adjacent territory has been landscaped.  

According to Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, and Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, 18 projects are being implemented to restore residential high-rise buildings in Irpin, Hostomel, Borodyanka, and the villages of Myla and Buzova in Bucha district of Kyiv region. Currently, they are 80-90% complete, and the work will be completed in the coming days.  

The projects are being implemented under the United24 program and the Memorandum of Understanding between the UNDP Technical Assistance Group, the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, and the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

Ruslan Kravchenko also told Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the reconstruction of hospitals, schools and kindergartens in Kyiv region, 80-90% of which, according to the RMA Head, have already been restored. 

As a result of the full-scale Russian aggression in Kyiv region, more than 29 thousand social infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged. So far, 17 thousand of them have been restored. 

The Head of State emphasized the importance of arranging high-quality shelters in educational institutions. The RMA Head assured that all of them have shelters of proper quality. In total, 1200 shelters were restored in the region in 2022-2023.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also spoke with the residents of the reconstructed houses and asked about their living conditions in the renovated homes. 

"You all are doing great for holding on. And we support you," said the President to the city's residents.

On behalf of the residents of all 120 apartments, Anhelina Kuriy, head of the condominium association at Davydchuk Street, thanked the President, central and local authorities for the restoration of their homes.

At the request of the residents, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed two blue and yellow flags. One of them will remain with the community residents, and the other will be auctioned off to support the fundraising for a vehicle for one of the military units.
