Government Officials, Local Authorities, and International Partners to Hold Joint Briefings on Overcoming Energy Challenges

Representatives from the Office of the President of Ukraine, the government, regional military administrations, local governments, and diplomatic missions have initiated joint briefings. These briefings will take place every two weeks and will focus on responding promptly to community requests and coordinating with international partners.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba noted that the briefings will be conducted pursuant to a decision by the Presidium of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine.

"We need to gather all the needs of the communities and inform our foreign partners, so that all the necessary equipment can be delivered to the regions and put into operation. The task of the authorities today is to ensure that people have stable electricity and water supply," said Oleksiy Kuleba.

Minister of Energy German Galushchenko and Acting Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development Vasyl Shkurakov reported on the progress of repair work and the supply of backup generators to critical infrastructure facilities.

UNDP representative Roman Shakhmatenko presented a digital platform for systematizing existing needs and projects in the energy sector.

Additionally, the government plans to launch a 15-49 hotline for energy-related issues on July 20.

Government officials urged local authorities to disseminate information within communities about loan programs and the reduction of permits for connecting additional generating facilities.

Specifically, in the framework of the "5-7-9" loan program, the Ministry of Economy has introduced projects for financing generation for businesses worth up to UAH 150 million and for housing cooperatives and housing maintenance offices worth up to UAH 5 million. Starting July 20, Ukrainians will also be able to obtain 0% interest loans for solar and wind power stations.
