The government must clearly explain to people how to register for the COVID-19 vaccination and how this process will take place - President

The issue of mass vaccination against COVID-19 was raised by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a traditional conference call with representatives of the government and law enforcement agencies.

The vaccination plan should include close communication and cooperation between the government, regional state administrations and local authorities, he stressed.

Officials reported on the state of preparation of an online platform through which you can register in the queue for vaccination. The Cabinet of Ministers will present it in February.

"The government must clearly explain to people how to register for the COVID-19 vaccination and how this process will take place. The online platform should be clear and convenient," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, for the first time in a long time, the number of active COVID-19 patients in Ukraine has dropped below 200,000. At the same time, despite the decrease in new cases and mortality rates, the number of hospitalized people increased last week - 12,147 people against 11,630 the week before last.

"Against the background of declining indicators, the fact is confirmed that people contact doctors less and do less PCR tests. They have an illness at home on their own, and go to the doctor and apply for hospitalization only in case of worsening of health conditions and serious illness,” Denys Shmyhal noted.

The head of government noted that the number of ELISA tests is growing and the number of rapid tests has increased significantly - 34,600 compared to 20,000 the week before last.

The Prime Minister also added that the possibility of transition to adaptive quarantine is being considered.

"The analysis shows that there are regions where quarantine measures can be mitigated more - to a level that corresponds to the yellow and green zones. The government is going to study this issue in more detail and make a decision," Denys Shmyhal noted.
