Under the patronage of the Fund of the President of Ukraine for the support of Education, Science, and Sports, a delegation of Ukrainian EdTech startups participated for the first time in the biggest global exhibition of educational technologies, Bett UK 2024, held in London from January 24 to January 26, 2024.
The Ukrainian delegation included eight educational startups selected from 29 competitive applications, namely Amperia, BUKI, CASES, Elai.io, GIOS, Headway, Nanit Robot, and Sensorama.
During the conference, Olha Budnyk, the advisor-commissioner of the President on issues of the President of Ukraine's Fund for the support of Education, Science, and Sports, held a meeting with the Bett UK team.
"The organizers of Bett UK offered their global support in the form of partnerships worldwide, which can provide expertise and specific funding for directions important for the country's recovery. We also received an invitation to include educators and students in the Ukrainian delegation next year. Partners will share their experiences of using technology in the educational process. This is recognition of our commitment to innovation in education and our ability to unite the global community for development," said Olha Budnyk.
In addition, the President of Ukraine's Fund organized a separate pitching session for domestic startups. In an exclusive event hosted by the UK's technology trade association TechUK, five startups had the opportunity to attract additional investments from leading venture funds in the UK.
Uliana Avtonomova, the advisor and acting director of the President of Ukraine's Fund, also participated in a panel discussion titled "How to be resilient: Education, Innovations, and EdTech."
"By initiating Ukraine's participation in Bett UK 2024, we aimed to showcase the country's technology potential to the world, highlighting talented innovators who, despite the challenges of wartime, are developing businesses and creating high-quality and cutting-edge products, changing approaches to learning. This is another powerful voice for Ukraine on the international stage, proving that we can turn challenges into opportunities," the acting director of the President of Ukraine's Fund Ihor Krechkevych added.
Bett UK is the biggest international platform for presenting educational products, bringing together over 30,000 visitors from more than 120 countries, including representatives from government officials, entrepreneurs, educators, and leaders in the technological field. Agreements have already been made regarding Ukraine's participation in Bett UK 2025.
