Ukrainian ventilators will be twice cheaper than imported ones - President

The purchase of ventilators of domestic production was discussed at a traditional meeting aimed to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic under the chairmanship of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov stressed that his office is preparing to purchase about 200 such devices. They should be ready by the end of May.

“It is very important that the expertise showed the high quality of Ukrainian ventilators, and that they fully meet the best standards. Ukrainian ventilators will be twice as cheap, which means better provision of our hospitals,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

Secretary of the Coordination Council on Combating the Spread of COVID-19 Kyrylo Tymoshenko noted that the Fund under the President's Office will soon complete the procurement of all protection equipment and means, and the Ministry of Health will take care of this. At the same time, Kyrylo Tymoshenko noted that during this week, with the coordination of the President's Office, they continued to deliver the necessary materials.

“We have received 360,000 respirators, 100,000 protective suits, 800,000 reagents from recent flights. Today all this is being delivered to the regions. We already have the raw materials for the production of Ukrainian tests, so they will be cheaper,” Kyrylo Tymoshenko said.

Minister of the Interior Arsen Avakov informed that Ukrainian doctors who helped their Italian colleagues are coming back from Italy today. Upon the arrival, they will undergo observation.
