Responsible states and leaders understand that Russia exploits various challenges in the world as much as possible to divert attention from any assistance to Ukraine, and they do everything to refocus attention on the war in our country to prevent a decrease in aid. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during a media briefing after talks with President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs in Kyiv.
As the Head of State emphasized, Ukraine is also working at all levels with various countries and leaders, including with U.S. President Joe Biden and his administration, with both parties in Congress, and with the European Union, to maintain support for our country.
"We need three victories. The first is with Congress. It's a challenge. It's not easy. Not everything depends on us. But Ukraine must do everything it can, and even more, to ensure assistance. And I believe it will be," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The second important task, according to the President of Ukraine, is securing a EUR 50 billion aid package from the EU.
"Not everyone in the European Union is ready to support this package today. Our task is to make sure everyone supports this package," he said.
Furthermore, a significant motivational step for Ukrainians to continue the fight against Russian aggression should be the decision to start negotiations on Ukraine's EU membership.
"It is important for those working in the state, studying and teaching, and for those who sacrifice their lives on the battlefield," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
