Ukraine needs more economic solutions during the epidemic exit - President

The government is preparing programs to overcome the economic crisis after the epidemic. In particular, it is the issue of business refinancing, helping the unemployed. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal noted this at a traditional conference call chaired by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on counteracting the spread of coronavirus. The Prime Minister also promised to present other economic programs next week. The Head of State noted that Ukraine currently does not have enough economic solutions for the epidemic exit.

"At this stage of the epidemic exit people expect support and understanding from the state. Ukraine needs more economic solutions during the epidemic exit. Given the developments in the world, we need to create new economic assistance programs as soon as possible," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

In response, the Prime Minister said that the government is calculating the losses from the coronavirus epidemic.

Denys Shmyhal added that, despite rumors, utility bills will not increase. He also noted that the state has been on the so-called plateau for almost a week: the daily number of those who recovered from coronavirus is equal to the number of infected.

At the same time, Minister of the Interior Arsen Avakov stressed the need to explain to people that security during quarantine remains a priority. After all, according to the official, some countries, which rapidly lifted the restrictions, faced new outbreaks of infection.

In addition, Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov said he was working with international experts to improve the second phase of healthcare reform, develop sufficient funding for hospitals and doctors during the crisis, and switch to a new improved medical system next year, ensuring the work of medical institutions and specialists.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak informed that 18 tons of humanitarian cargo from the International Committee of the Red Cross were sent to the uncontrolled part of the Donbas territory.
