Ukrainians become more conscious and quickly accept innovations to insure oneself against epidemic - President

Ukraine gets ready for a gradual mitigation of quarantine rules elaborating all stages in detail. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this at a traditional meeting with representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers and major state agencies responsible for preventing the spread of COVID-19 chaired by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Today, food markets are to be opened, however they will function under clear rules to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

At the same time, it was noted that the May holidays are the last of the dangerous weekends that can facilitate crowds. National police informed that patrols will be on duty in the parks these days to prevent this.

The border guards reported an increase in the number of people installing “Diy Vdoma” app that helps undergo self-isolation during quarantine. Control over compliance with self-isolation is carried out by the app through regular notifications throughout the day, the verification of the matching of the face on the photo with the reference image downloaded during the installation of the service and the geolocation of the mobile phone at the time of taking a picture. After receiving the message the citizen must take a picture of his / her face against the background of the environment within 15 minutes.

Head of the State Border Service of Ukraine Serhiy Deyneko said that of more than seven thousand citizens who crossed the border to enter Ukraine in the past day, 65% have installed the app. A few days earlier the number was 50%.

"We see that Ukrainians become more conscious and quickly accept innovations and modern approaches to insure oneself and loved ones against epidemic. The app is based on the best foreign experience. I am sure it will help Ukrainians undergo self-isolation during quarantine with greater comfort,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal also added that the number of people recovering from COVID-19 increases in Ukraine every day.
