Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva met with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Mantas Adomėnas.
He congratulated his interlocutor on the 105th anniversary of the restoration of Lithuanian statehood, which is being celebrated today, and emphasized the dynamic and mutually beneficial nature of the Ukrainian-Lithuanian strategic partnership.
Ihor Zhovkva briefed Mantas Adomėnas on the current security situation in the context of Russia's ongoing full-scale aggression and expressed gratitude for Lithuania's significant practical assistance aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.
The interlocutors discussed in detail the cooperation between the two countries in the context of implementing Ukraine's European integration course and the importance of Ukraine receiving this year an invitation to the next stage – membership negotiations.
The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office expressed hope that the EU would prepare and adopt the next, more powerful and ambitious 10th sanctions package against Russia.
Particular attention was paid to the practical aspects of Ukraine's strategic movement towards NATO membership, as well as the support for this process by the Lithuanian side. Ihor Zhovkva and Mantas Adomėnas coordinated further steps in the context of implementing Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration strategy and preparations for the upcoming NATO Summit in Vilnius.
