Ukraine and the United Kingdom Held the Fifth Round of Negotiations on a Bilateral Agreement on Transition to a Stronger and Deeper Partnership

Ukraine and the United Kingdom held the fifth round of negotiations on concluding an agreement on transition to a stronger and deeper partnership. The talks followed up on the agreements reached by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer during a telephone conversation on December 23, 2024.

The draft document is at the final stage of approval.

“We are grateful to the United Kingdom for its leadership in supporting Ukraine. The conclusion of a new fundamental agreement between our states will be a historic milestone in our cooperation. This proves once again that the UK has been, is, and will be Ukraine’s reliable friend and partner,” noted Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva, who led the Ukrainian team during the negotiations on the instructions of Andriy Yermak, Head of the Presidential Office and Head of the Delegation.

The delegations of Ukraine and the United Kingdom agreed on their next steps to finalize the text of the agreement.
