The dialogue between Ukraine and Turkey is developing dynamically, the countries are ready to deepen the strategic partnership and develop cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a joint statement with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the media following the talks in Istanbul.

"No virus will hinder the partnership and friendship of our countries. And today's fruitful talks clearly prove it," the Ukrainian President said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Turkey and its people for their hospitality.

"I am pleased that our meeting took place in Istanbul. It is a city that has a special historical and spiritual significance not only for the Turkish and Ukrainian nations, but also for the whole world. We feel the special energy of this city, as well as the exceptionally friendly and warm atmosphere of the meeting with Mr. President Erdoğan. I am sure that all this charges the relations between Ukraine and Turkey with energy for constant development and constant movement forward," he said.

According to the President of Ukraine, during the talks in Istanbul, the parties discussed in detail topical issues, which will allow to prepare the 9th meeting of the High-Level Strategic Council, which is scheduled for early next year.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that the previously reached agreements and tasks in trade, investment, energy, infrastructure, as well as in the field of customs policy were enshrined today in the Protocol of the Twelfth Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

For his part, the President of the Republic of Turkey stated that important agreements had been signed today, and this was made possible due to the vis-a-vis talks between the Heads of State, negotiations between delegations and in a closer circle.

"We have taken another step towards progress," Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, noting that these agreements would implement many points of joint Ukrainian-Turkish projects.

He recalled that he had visited Ukraine before the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, and the 8th meeting of the High-Level Strategic Council had taken place during his visit.

"The fact that we are meeting with Mr. Zelenskyy very shortly after our last meeting is a demonstration of our common will to develop our relations," the Turkish President added.

"The range of our cooperation extends from tourism to cooperation in the field of education - it has many manifestations and many aspects," Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said.
