Ukraine and Moldova Coordinated Positions on Negotiation Process Towards EU Membership

Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva met with Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration of Moldova Cristina Gherasimov.

Ihor Zhovkva commended the humanitarian assistance and support of the first Peace Summit by Moldova. He also thanked Cristina Gherasimov for her visit to Ukraine almost immediately after the countries held their first meetings within the framework of the bilateral screening.

"This is a very important message that once again shows that Ukraine and Moldova are moving side by side towards EU membership," said the Deputy Head of the Office of the President.

Ihor Zhovkva and Cristina Gherasimov discussed priorities, tasks and plans for the near future regarding the negotiation processes for Ukraine's and Moldova's accession to the European Union.

The interlocutors coordinated further joint steps that will contribute, in particular, to the advancement of the negotiations and the work of the teams.

Special attention was paid to the importance of strengthening the dialogue and cooperation between Ukraine, Moldova and Romania.
