During the negotiations between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, a number of agreements have been reached as regards the support for our state in the defense sphere.
"I think we can frankly speak about it: we have agreed on the supply of armored vehicles and the development of cooperation in this area," the Head of State said during a conversation with journalists in Toronto.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that he did not want to reveal the details at the moment. "Let's sign the deal. I'm sure it will happen soon. And then we will talk about this," he concluded.
Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, in turn, confirmed the progress in supporting Ukraine in the protection of its territory and sovereignty.
"Yes, we are moving forward in discussions on the armed support for Ukraine. In addition to the military mission, in which Canada is involved, we also added Ukraine to the list for the purchase of Canadian weapons. And this is a positive decision," he stated.
"We already see the investments from Canadian companies in the production of ammunition in Ukraine. And we will continue to work with Ukraine, so that it can receive the support it needs from the Armed Forces of Canada. We will continue the UNIFIER operation, we will do everything for Ukraine to receive the necessary equipment," the Prime Minister added.
"We are aware of the importance of supporting Ukraine in the problems it faces. Especially when it comes to the illegal invasion of Russia into the territory of Ukraine. And that is why we help train the Ukrainian army, train Ukrainian servicemen. We also added Ukraine to the list that allows the export of weapons. We recognize that this is a solution that allows us to counter Russia's actions," Justin Trudeau concluded.
