Ukraine and Ireland Will Continue Cooperation to Prevent Russia from Getting Weapons Components Bypassing Sanctions

Advisor and Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk met with Ambassador of Ireland to Ukraine Jonathan Conlon.

During the meeting, the parties discussed increasing sanctions pressure on Russia, in particular Ireland's proposals for the 16th EU sanctions package. Special attention was paid to sanctions against the Russian energy sector and the shadow fleet, as well as the EU's refusal to import Russian LNG.

Another important topic was the investigation into the presence of Irish-made components in Russian weapons. Jonathan Conlon emphasized that Ireland has thoroughly studied the materials provided by Ukraine and has taken measures to strengthen control over production and prevent critical components from reaching the aggressor country.

Ukraine and Ireland agreed to continue cooperation to tighten oversight of dual-use goods.

"We appreciate the efforts of the Irish side and their serious approach to this issue. We look forward to further cooperation to ensure that Russia cannot acquire components for weapons and ammunition by circumventing sanctions," Vladyslav Vlasiuk stated.
