Ukraine and Greece Will Sign a Security Agreement in the Near Future

The Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Ihor Zhovkva, held a meeting with the Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic for Ukraine, Spyridon Lambridis.

Ihor Zhovkva thanked Greece for its consistent support and significant comprehensive assistance to our country, including defense assistance, since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion. He also emphasized the importance of further strengthening this assistance based on the current needs of the Ukrainian warriors.

The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office acknowledged Greece's support for the Ukrainian Peace Formula and its active participation in the implementation of its specific points. The parties also discussed the preparations for the inaugural Peace Summit in Switzerland, in particular the joint efforts to involve the countries of the Global South in the work of the Summit.

During the meeting, the interlocutors agreed to conclude negotiations on a bilateral security agreement so that Ukraine and Greece could sign it in the near future.

Ihor Zhovkva also noted the importance of Greece's support in starting negotiations on our country's accession to the EU and its approach to NATO membership.
