President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama in Davos, where they signed the Agreement on Security Cooperation and Long-Term Support Between Ukraine and the Republic of Albania.
Albania has been providing military and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, and it will continue its support throughout the ten-year term of the document.
In particular, the country will contribute to the fighter jet coalition by providing language training for Ukrainian pilots and technicians.
Additionally, both states will work on deepening their defense cooperation. This includes joint production with localization in Ukraine.
Specific sections address economic partnership, security cooperation, accountability for Russia, compensation for damages, sanctions against the Russian Federation, and assistance in Ukraine's reconstruction.
Albania also reiterated its support for Ukraine's future membership in the EU and NATO, as well as for the Peace Formula.
During the meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Edi Rama also discussed concrete areas of defense support – things that can help Ukraine strengthen its positions on the battlefield in order to achieve a just and lasting peace.
Special attention was paid to the future membership of Ukraine and Albania in the EU. Both countries aspire to become full members of the European Union.
