Ukraine expects positive decisions on financial and military support from its allies to strengthen its forces on the battlefield. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference at the forum "Ukraine. Year 2024".
"I met with senators, with both parties, and all the signals in different formats are known to President Biden, the government and the opposition. They know that we need this decision within a month," the Head of State emphasized.
According to him, for the most part, these funds remain in the United States, in companies that manufacture weapons that Ukraine needs, including air defense systems and missiles.
At the same time, as Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized, Ukraine has already signed a number of bilateral security agreements with European countries that stipulate specific amounts of assistance.
"There are serious specifics about funding, and we insisted on these specifics for a reason, because we see challenges in the United States. But I expect that the United States will remain the leader of democracy in the world," the Head of State noted.
According to the President, there are positive expectations regarding long-range weapons, in particular ATACMS 300.
As for the long-range weapons, in particular ATACMS with a range of up to 300 km, the President said he has positive expectations in this regard.
"Indeed, we have been working on this issue for a long time. To summarize, I am positive about the recent conversations with our partners," he added.
In addition, the Head of State noted that he saw changes in Europe's attitude to the war in Ukraine, especially in the last few months.
"I think they at least realize how dangerous this is for them. That Putin is not only our enemy, but an enemy for the whole of Europe. I think they have realized that Putin will continue this war," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
In his opinion, this is why the leaders of European countries have begun to increase the production of ammunition, in particular 155 mm caliber.
At the same time, the Head of State noted that the societies of European countries are still not ready to fight against Russia on the battlefield. And to prevent them from having to do so, the European Union must strengthen Ukraine.
