Ukraine undertaking necessary efforts to secure financial aid from the EU, the United States – President

Ukraine is undertaking necessary efforts to secure financial assistance from the European Union and the United States, and hopes for a positive decision from its partners on this matter. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during a media briefing following a meeting with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak in Kyiv.

The Head of State emphasized that Ukraine has made progress in obtaining aid from EU states and other European countries with which bilateral agreements have been signed.

"Regarding the multi-billion long-term support of [EUR] 50 billion – we are working to have a positive decision by February 1," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The President said that Ukraine's chances of receiving assistance from the United States have increased compared to December of the previous year.

"As for Washington's aid – I am also looking at it with more optimism than in December. I believe we will also achieve this result," the Head of State said.

At the same time, Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted Ukraine's need for air defense systems, especially to counter ballistic missiles.

"We lack Patriot systems, we lack corresponding systems with a different range. However, this is gradually coming. We have succeeded in something and we have reached agreements on something new," the President concluded.
