Ukraine continues cooperation with the IMF - Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Ukraine does not stop cooperating with the International Monetary Fund, but to receive the next tranche it is necessary to make a number of decisions, including at the legislative level, which takes some time. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during an interview for Ukrainian TV channels in the framework of the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30. Infrastructure".

"The program with the IMF was not closed. We are in a program from which we have received $ 2.1 billion. In total this program includes three tranches. We still have two tranches of 700 million (ahead - ed.), if we take this program separately. Now they were to provide a date when the second tranche of 700 million would be allocated. The program was not implemented due to some things, for example, in the legal sector it is the law on the High Council of Justice," the Head of State noted.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the previous Ukrainian government had promised the IMF to pass a law on the High Council of Justice for years, but did not fulfill this promise. And now the current government and the current convocation of the Verkhovna Rada have to develop and adopt the necessary legislation very quickly.

"We have registered the draft law on the High Council of Justice, we have registered the draft law on NABU, there are several other economic laws that we must adopt. That’s the agreement," he said.
