Ukraine has never allowed itself and will not allow in the future any interference in the electoral process of other countries, in particular the United States, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.
The head of state said that, unfortunately, from time to time "sensational data" about the alleged participation of Ukraine in electoral events in other countries appear in the public space.
"As the President of Ukraine, I would like to emphasize once again my personal principled position and the fundamental position of our state as a whole. It is never, under any circumstances, acceptable to interfere in any way with the sovereign elections of another country. Once again I assure our partners that Ukraine did not allow and will not allow itself in the future to meddle in the elections and thereby undermine our sincere partnership of trust with the United States," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President also expressed confidence that our partners also have the same respectful attitude towards the sovereign right of Ukraine to internal affairs and the internal choice of their priorities.
"Only on such principles we can build strong strategic partnerships," he said.
In addition, the Head of State said that preventing our country from being pulled into U.S. domestic policy is a matter of Ukraine's national security.
"So I believe that citizens of Ukraine should, to put it mildly, refrain from any activity related to the presidential elections in the United States, and not allow themselves to try to solve any of their personal political or business problems using this. Ukraine's reputation is worth much more than the reputation of any of our politicians. Therefore, let's not trade away Ukraine for situational benefits," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
