Ukraine may have cheap credit at 12-13% in native currency next year. This was stated by Deputy Head of the Office of the President Oleksiy Goncharuk during a business breakfast with heads of foreign banks in Ukraine. This event was organized by the Forum for Leading International Financial Institutions (FLIFI).
According to him, this is an optimistic estimation, but real. He also noted that they plan to create an instrument in the Ukrainian banking system that will protect the interests of creditors.
«Why is it so important for us to have cheap credit next year? Because a farmer can simply go to the bank and obtain credit at 12-13% in native currency. It will be much easier for him to work, develop and be competitive," Oleksiy Honcharuk said. He also added that it could be implemented with the help of restriction or incentive tools.
"We will look for our own model that will allow us to do it without restriction," the Deputy Head of the Office of the President summarized.
