Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak notes that our state continues to work on obtaining reliable guarantees of its security and uniting as many countries as possible around the implementation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula. He said this during an online participation in the 14th annual Aspen Security Forum.
Andriy Yermak emphasized that after the NATO Summit in Vilnius, the Ukrainian delegation returned home with a clear understanding of the next steps.
"We need to win the war as quickly as possible. And we have heard that all our allies not only believe but are confident in our victory. So Ukraine must receive reliable and effective security guarantees," he said.
The Head of the President's Office emphasized the importance of the approval of the Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine by the G7 leaders in the course of the NATO Summit, which contains elements of the Kyiv Security Compact elaborated by the international working group headed by Andriy Yermak and former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
Work will now continue on concluding a system of bilateral security agreements between Ukraine and the guarantor states in the framework of multilateral cooperation.
Answering a question about the situation on the frontline, the Head of the Presidential Office noted that the counteroffensive is not easy, but is generally in line with the plan of the Ukrainian command.
"Our heroes on the frontline are doing their best for this. So is the entire Ukrainian nation. After all, the main goal and desire of all Ukrainians is to win this war. Ukraine will definitely win. And it will be our joint victory with the United States and other partners," he emphasized.
Andriy Yermak once again thanked U.S. President Joseph Biden, his administration, Congress and both parties, and the entire American people.
"We need ATACMS, and we are waiting for a corresponding decision. We need more air defense systems. We are talking about this with our partners and we are glad that they hear us. You know what's been happening in Odesa and Mykolaiv in recent days, what happened to the grain corridor, and this is a problem not only for Ukraine but for many countries around the world. And, of course, we need F-16s, as well as additional weapons and ammunition," the Head of the Presidential Office noted, speaking about Ukraine's current defense needs.
In addition, as Andriy Yermak emphasized, Ukraine continues to actively work on the implementation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula, and consultations on organizing a peace summit are ongoing, with more and more countries from around the world joining in.
"This platform should unite the world. Because the ten points of the Peace Formula are not just about how to end this war in Ukraine. It is about the major crises that are the consequences of this war. We are talking about food security, nuclear security, the environment, and very important humanitarian issues. We have to return not only all our territories, but also all our people. First of all, all Ukrainian children who were illegally deported to Russia and the occupied territories," summarized the Head of the Presidential Office.
