Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak emphasizes that the recent meeting of the official delegations of Ukraine and Hungary in Uzhhorod is aimed at improving relations between the two countries. He said this in an interview with the Hungarian TV channel M1.

"The first and most important message is that Ukraine is ready for good neighborly relations, for maintaining neighborly relations," said Andriy Yermak.

The Head of the President's Office reminded that in December 2023, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted an extremely important law on national minorities.

"Recently, together with Dmytro Kuleba and Péter Szijjártó, we talked to representatives of the Hungarian national minority, and they said that these problems are actually only technical in nature compared to what the war causes and what really needs to be solved. This war has led to a large number of casualties, including among local Hungarians," emphasized Andriy Yermak.

According to him, everyone in Europe is in danger now.

"Why don't you think Hungary could be the next target? Why don't you think that the Baltic states could be the next target? Many Hungarians remember the events caused by the Soviet Union in 1956," the Head of the Presidential Office reminded.

Andriy Yermak emphasized that Ukraine seeks a just peace.

"We need a just peace. But peace cannot be built with ultimata, missiles, and drones that Russia fires at Ukraine every day. Since 2019, when Mr. Zelenskyy was elected President, there have been more than 200 negotiations with the Russians, we have signed a ceasefire agreement more than 10 times, and you see what it has led to. You see that on February 24, 2022, we received a response," he said.

As the Head of the President's Office stated, Russians always use the ceasefire to prepare a new occupation, a new genocide.
