Ukraine is strengthening its presence on the African continent. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his meeting with journalists from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, Senegal, Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Guinea, Chad, Kenya and Brazil on the sidelines of the Third International Summit on Food Security Grain from Ukraine.
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, it was decided to open 10 more embassies in African countries, seven of which are already in operation and three will be opened in the near future.
The President emphasized that Ukraine would remain committed to food security despite any Russian attacks and blockades. At the same time, the Ukrainian side is also interested in strengthening economic ties.
“We are interested in the economy, so we have set a task to open new grain warehouses – hubs for storing various food products – in parallel with the opening of embassies. We are talking about bilateral relations with various African countries that are interested in this. We don't want to just stock up on food. We want to share technologies, processing methods, our skills in land cultivation, and we want to exchange experiences with your countries,” the President said.
