The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the authorities are actively preparing for the start of vaccination against COVID-19 in the country, which should begin in February. In particular, the issue of compliance with the cold chain, which is necessary for storage and transportation of vaccines, has already been worked out. This was announced to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a traditional conference call chaired by him.
The authorities are preparing various opportunities to enroll citizens for vaccination.
"It should be easy for each category of the population to register for vaccination, to know clearly the date and place, where and when they can get vaccinated. The government must communicate openly and transparently about the queue. That's why we talked about creating a special website where you can sign up for vaccination. The "Diia" application, which has already shown its effectiveness and is trusted by the population, will also be involved. But if people do not have the opportunity to freely use the Internet, it will be possible to register with the help of a family doctor," the Head of State said.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that the epidemic situation in the regions is different. There are regions where the incidence is moderate, but there are outbreaks as well.
"During the week, such a situation was observed in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. More than 400 patients were registered there every day. Now there are still about 400 cases. The dynamics is similar to that which occurred at the beginning of the pandemic in the Chernivtsi region. We’ve put the situation under the control of the regional leadership," the Prime Minister said.
In this regard, the possibility of returning to adaptive quarantine is being considered. "Adaptive quarantine will consist of a green, yellow, orange zone, and red zones can be established by a separate decision," Denys Shmyhal noted.
