Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Dick Schoof Meet with Veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian War in Zaporizhzhia

In Zaporizhzhia, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof met with veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war, including warriors from the Armed Forces, Territorial Defense, and the National Guard. They have fought on various fronts and defended Ukraine both since 2014 and 2022.

"I want to thank you for everything you have done for Ukraine and for not forgetting those who gave their lives because of the enemy. It is crucial to remember them all. As long as we remember them, they remain alive, and they are undoubtedly forever a part of our history. But this is not enough without victory. Without it, all this memory could fade away. It is essential that we fully defend both this memory and our land," said the President.

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands expressed his support for Ukraine's defenders.

"We are proud of what you have done, of your bravery. I hope you will continue to maintain this spirit. I wish Ukraine freedom, as it is the cornerstone of Europe's freedom," stated Dick Schoof.

During the meeting, the parties discussed drone production and the supply of spare parts, prisoner exchanges and the possibility of assistance from the Netherlands, demining efforts and the provision of quality equipment, as well as the restoration of energy infrastructure.
