Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Olaf Scholz in Vilnius

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in the framework of the NATO Summit in Vilnius.

The Head of State informed the Chancellor on the course of hostilities on the frontline and shared his assessment of the situation in Russia after the recent events.

The President thanked Olaf Scholz for the powerful military assistance provided by Germany to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, particularly noting the latest security support package that includes air defense systems, armored vehicles and artillery shells.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about Russia's increase in missile production using Western components.

The parties discussed further long-term defense cooperation between Ukraine and Germany, including the functioning of hubs for the repair of Western equipment.

The Head of State also thanked for the important decisions taken by the Allies to enhance practical cooperation between Ukraine and NATO, in particular the launch of a multi-year assistance program to support Ukraine's full interoperability with the Alliance in the field of security and defense. Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised the launch of the NATO-Ukraine Council.

The President emphasized that today our country makes an extremely significant contribution to the protection of peace, freedom and democracy on the European continent, and 90% of Ukrainians stand for NATO membership.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olaf Scholz also exchanged views on further steps to implement the Ukrainian Peace Formula and prepare for the Global Peace Summit.
