During his working visit to the Republic of Lithuania to participate in the 9th Summit of the Three Seas Initiative, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Gitanas Nausėda for inviting him to the Three Seas Summit and for his strong position.
"Thank you for your support from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion - for your political and military support. It is very important for us. I also thank the Lithuanian people for hosting our refugees," the President said.
The Head of State informed his Lithuanian counterpart on the current situation at the frontline and the consequences of Russian shelling for the critical infrastructure. Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke in detail about what Ukraine needs to protect our cities and help the military. The leaders discussed ways to increase production of needed weapons in both countries.
"Air defence is very important. This is a very big challenge for us. You know that this morning Kharkiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv region and other regions of Ukraine were attacked by missiles again. That is why air defence is the number one issue for us," the Head of State noted.
The Lithuanian President also stressed the need to join efforts of international partners to supply Ukraine with weapons and ammunition.
The parties exchanged views on the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, in particular, they discussed the preparations for the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland.
During the meeting, the Presidents also discussed the support that Ukraine needs on its way to the EU and NATO.
