During a working visit to Lithuania, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held trilateral talks with President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and President of the European Council Charles Michel.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the invariability of Ukraine's strategic course towards full membership in the European Union.

The parties exchanged views on the importance of fixing Ukraine's European prospect and further supporting this ambitious goal by the European Union and EU member states. The President of Ukraine praised the fact that Lithuania was the first EU country to conclude a bilateral declaration with Ukraine.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the current security situation in the region, especially in the context of the concentration of Russian troops and weapons along the Ukrainian state border, as well as in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Lithuania and the leadership of the European Union for their clear position on the inadmissibility of resuming the EU-Russia dialogue at the highest level in the context of Russia's continued aggression against our country.

The President of Ukraine informed his interlocutors about the preparations for the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform, which will take place on August 23, 2021 in Kyiv. He noted the importance of this event for drawing the attention of the international community to the occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
