In Poland, Volodymyr Zelenskyy Discussed Further Support for Ukraine with Emmanuel Macron

The Presidents of Ukraine and France met in Poland following the ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi concentration camp.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Emmanuel Macron for support of Ukraine and military assistance. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, France has provided €6 billion in defense aid.

During the meeting, the leaders discussed opportunities to further strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities with France’s support, which would bolster Ukraine’s position in achieving a just and lasting peace.

Special attention was given to security cooperation, particularly possible formats for security guarantees for Ukraine and Europe as a whole.

In addition, Ukraine is counting on the support of France and Emmanuel Macron personally in the negotiation process for EU accession.
