During a working visit to the Republic of Poland, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in festivities marking the 230th anniversary of the 3 May Constitution of Poland.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Polish President Andrzej Duda on this date.

"Democratic values are a feature of Polish history. I respect the Polish tradition of lawmaking and implementation of reforms. The Constitution of Poland was a manifestation of the aspiration for justice, which unites our countries and the entire European community," the Head of State stressed.

3 May Constitution Day is especially important for Poland, as this document equalized the rights of certain segments of the population, divided power into legislative, executive and judicial, as well as became the basis of Polish democracy. It is still highly valued by the Polish people.

That is why President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda invited the leaders of four friendly states to celebrate the 230th anniversary of the 3 May Constitution. In addition to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the festivities were attended by President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid, President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and President of Latvia Egils Levits. The heads of state signed a joint declaration.
