During a working visit to the United States, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the presentation of the Transformation Plan of Ukraine. The event was held at the Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington.
Speaking to representatives of leading American think tanks and journalists, the President noted that his visit to the United States takes place at a special time for Ukraine - a time of great challenges and opportunities.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that in 30 years since the restoration of independence, our country has lost many opportunities, as politicians have been constantly postponing changes "for tomorrow."
"All these changes are taking place during the war. Security remains a key challenge for Ukraine. And the full restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity is a key goal," he stressed.
The President noted that despite all the difficulties and threats, Ukraine today is a country of freedom, hope, movement forward and development.
According to him, today there is no other country that would carry out such systemic reforms in the face of armed confrontation with one of the most powerful armies in the world.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine's anti-corruption architecture is being strengthened, corrupt officials are being prosecuted, the land market was opened, laws are being passed to support Ukrainian and foreign investors, and the rule of law and judicial reform are unconditional priorities.
"We have a clear vision of what Ukraine should become in five to ten years. This is an ambitious plan for the transformation of our state. More justice, more opportunities - we are building a prosperous and resilient Ukraine," he said.
The President explained that the document entitled A Greater Justice and Opportunity - Building Prosperous and Resilient Ukraine outlines the vision of Ukraine's development in the coming years as a "security outpost, digital, infrastructure and agricultural hub."
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine's economic transformation plan sets ambitious goals for human capital development, green transformation and energy security.
The Head of State noted that the document is a tool for the development of Ukraine's strategic partnership with the United States in the economy and contains specific joint economic and investment projects.
"More than 80 projects included in the plan are ambitious projects worth a total of $ 277 billion. They envisage financing from the state budget of Ukraine, as well as attracting programs of international aid, loans and investments," he said.
The President expressed hope that American partners would actively participate in the implementation of this ambitious plan.
