Volodymyr Zelenskyy Met with Olaf Scholz in Munich

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz in Munich.

The Head of State thanked the Federal Republic of Germany for its support of Ukraine, noting that this country is the second largest donor of aid. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the total aid has amounted to more than 43 billion euros, which is a great contribution to saving lives.

The main topic of the meeting was the coordination of steps to achieve a just peace, joint efforts, and European unity. It is important that Europeans have a unified position on a just end to the war and strong and reliable security guarantees. The future not only of Ukraine but of Europe depends on it.

The President emphasized that this requires strengthening Ukraine's frontline positions, improving air defenses, and supporting Ukrainian production of long-range drones and missiles.

The parties separately discussed the opening of a Unity Hub in Berlin in the near future. In the presence of Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olaf Scholz, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov and Head of the Federal Chancellery Wolfgang Schmidt signed a Joint Declaration of Intent on Ukraine's “Unity Hubs.”

In these hubs, forced migrants will be supported in their integration, education, and implementation of their initiatives, as well as assisted in returning home.
