President of Ukraine met with the Prime Minister of Canada in the framework of the NATO Summit

In the framework of the NATO Summit in Vilnius, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the Canadian Prime Minister for his recent visit to Kyiv and expressed gratitude to Canada and all Canadians for their assistance from the very beginning of the full-scale Russian aggression.

"We can truly count on you. We are fighting for our common values. And I am very grateful for all the support from your government. I am glad that we can have a conversation today. We need your support, and I am confident that we will have it," the Head of State emphasized.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted Canada's principled position that there is no alternative to Ukraine's membership in NATO. 

He also thanked for Canada's support on the issue of providing security guarantees for Ukraine.

The President informed the Prime Minister of Canada on the situation on the battlefield.

During the tete-a-tete talks with the participation of the delegations, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Justin Trudeau discussed the continuation of enhanced military and technical assistance to Ukraine from partners until the complete liberation of all the temporarily occupied territories of our country.

The parties emphasized the importance of further strengthening the protection of Ukrainian skies and Canada's participation in the coalition of fighter jets.

The parties paid special attention to discussing preparations for the global summit on the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula.
