During a working trip to the Dnipropetrovsk region, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska visited the "Superhero School" in Kryvyi Rih.
The President and his wife saw the classrooms and the learning process at this school, which operates within a hospital. Here, children undergoing long-term treatment can continue their education and receive the support they need.
The creation of this "Superhero School" was fully funded by the Olena Zelenska Foundation.
"Children in Kryvyi Rih hospitals face not only illnesses but also the harsh realities of war. For them, the "Superhero School" is more than just classrooms. It’s a place where they regain their childhood, hope, and support," noted the First Lady.
The school is fully equipped for learning, including two classrooms, a play area for preschoolers, a mental health room, and a library.
"These results inspire us to do more and continue seeking donors to open such schools in new cities," emphasized the director of the Olena Zelenska Foundation, Nina Horbachova.
This year, the Foundation funded the creation of six new "Superhero Schools," with the support of international partners. In addition to Kryvyi Rih, educational classrooms in hospitals in Vinnytsia and Rivne are ready for the new school year. Soon, similar schools will open in Lviv, Odesa, and Poltava.
"We thank the Foundation for believing in our project and for making it possible to see happy superheroes in new classrooms," said Nataliia Zhylinska, director of the state institution "Superhero School."
"Superhero Schools" are now available in 11 cities. Last year, more than 15,000 children became their students.
