An Exhibition Dedicated to the Participation of Ukrainian Athletes in the Olympic Games Was Opened in Kyiv

Olena Kovalska, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, opened “The Will to Win” exhibition dedicated to the participation of Ukrainian athletes in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

“Our enemy has done everything to prevent us from participating in the Olympic Games this year. He is destroying our stadiums, swimming pools and sports facilities, killing our Olympians. Many athletes have joined the Armed Forces to defend the country. But it is time that decides, strength that decides, courage that decides. And Ukraine will be in Paris, but Russia as a country will not be there,” she emphasized.

According to the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Ukraine is the first country in the world to send a delegation of its athletes to the Olympic Games in the midst of such a full-scale war.

Olena Kovalska reminded that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russians have killed 479 Ukrainian athletes and coaches, including world champions, European champions and Olympic participants. Many of our athletes were disabled. A total of 518 sports facilities were destroyed, including 15 Olympic training bases.

The multimedia exhibition “The Will to Win – Воля до перемоги!” was prepared by the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the National Olympic Committee, and the association “Watch Ukrainian!”. The event aims to demonstrate the will of Ukrainians to win.
