The official ceremony of meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of the Swiss Confederation Simonetta Sommaruga, who is on a state visit to Ukraine, took place in Kyiv. This is the first state visit of the President of the Swiss Confederation to Ukraine in the history of bilateral diplomatic relations.
During the ceremony, which took place at the Mariyinsky Palace, the chief of the honor guard company reported to the heads of the two states.
The military orchestra performed the national anthems of the Swiss Confederation and Ukraine. A salute of nations was performed - twenty-one artillery volleys. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Simonetta Sommaruga passed by the honor guard.
Members of the official delegations of Ukraine and the Swiss Confederation were introduced.
After that, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Simonetta Sommaruga started a meeting in vis-à-vis format, after which Ukrainian-Swiss talks chaired by the Presidents of the two countries are scheduled.
After the talks, a number of bilateral documents will be signed and the Presidents of Ukraine and Switzerland will hold a meeting with media representatives.
