On the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a working trip to the Donetsk region and met with the Ukrainian servicemen who defend the independence of our state.
"I am honored to be with you here in Donbas today. Allow me to congratulate you on your holiday and the great holiday of our entire state - the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. I wish you strength to heroically defend our state, as you are doing now," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy, addressing the defenders of Ukraine.
The Head of State also noted the crucial role of all those who motivate Ukrainian warriors and thanks to whom they take such heroic steps in their lives and in the history of Ukraine.
"I want to thank your parents for raising you like this, your wives and husbands, your children, all those who support you every day," he added.
The President also thanked those warriors "who, unfortunately, remained on the battlefield, but did not leave Ukraine."
The attendees honored the memory of those who died in the war with Russia with a moment of silence.
"They will remain in our memory forever. We give these people minutes, and they gave us and our state, I'm sure, years and decades," Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
The Head of State noted that he is extremely glad to be in the Ukrainian Donbas.
"I believe that we will meet in our Ukrainian Donetsk, Luhansk, and I am sure that we will also meet in Crimea," said the President.
According to him, the most difficult direction is in the east of Ukraine today, where our entire state is being protected. At the same time, in other directions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine perform complex tasks of defense and de-occupation of Ukrainian territories.
"I want to thank you for this resilience and strength. You are an outpost of our independence," the Head of State emphasized, addressing the military personnel.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented state awards and valuable gifts to the defenders.
