During a working trip to Mykolaiv region on the Day of the Medical Worker, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited medical institutions in Mykolaiv and Ochakiv.
In the surgical department of the hospital in the regional center, the Head of State spoke with children who are undergoing treatment after mine-blast injuries sustained during the shelling of the region by Russian invaders.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy talked to medical workers and congratulated them on their professional holiday.
According to the President, the state should appreciate doctors even more and improve the conditions of their important work.
"I know the security conditions in which you work. I would like to thank you for your great work, for bringing back to life children, including those from other regions, who are our future," he said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also presented state awards to the military and civilians. In particular, military medics received the Order For Courage of the III degree and the Order of Danylo Halytskyi from the President.
In Ochakiv, the Head of State visited the stabilization medical unit where Ukrainian defenders wounded on the frontline receive assistance.
The President observed the medical equipment and the work of the medical and nursing team. The Head of State inspected the equipment of the wards, dental office, laboratory and surgical department of the medical unit.
In Ochakiv, Volodymyr Zelenskyy also presented military medics with the Order For Courage of the III degree, the Order of Danylo Halytskyi, medals "For Military Service to Ukraine" and "For Saved Life".
