In Brussels, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala to discuss continued support for Ukraine.
The President expressed gratitude for the comprehensive assistance provided to Ukrainians in their fight against Russian aggression. Ukraine is counting on making the next year as productive as possible for Ukrainian-Czech relations.
The President specifically highlighted the Czech Republic’s contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and the decision to continue the initiative of supplying artillery shells through 2025.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also outlined Ukraine’s current defense needs, with the top priority being the enhancement of air defense. An additional 19 air defense systems are needed to protect strategic energy infrastructure. Strengthening Ukraine and our warriors on the frontline will bring the war’s end and a just peace for all of Europe closer.
The meeting also included discussions on Ukraine’s path toward European integration, the country’s recovery, and increasing sanctions pressure on Russia.
