On the International Children's Day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the educatees of the Kyiv Regional Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children "Father's House" in the village of Sviatopetrivske.
"No matter who you become - scientists, military, engineers, teachers - you must always remain a human - kind, honest, tolerant, modern. And most importantly - happy," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, addressing the children and participants of social projects of the center.
The President watched a theatrical performance with the participation of the educatees of the institution. According to Roman Korniyko, chairman of the board of the non-governmental organization “Association of Social Projects “Father’s House”, the participation of children in theater performances is one of the types of psychological therapy.
"It is a theater therapy for them, an opportunity to find yourself, realize yourself and serve others. Due to the theater therapy, we try to influence society and form public opinion," he said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also got himself acquainted with the youth sports club of the center. Several sections work on its basis. One of the educatees of the club became the world champion in kickboxing and now trains his students.
In addition, the President visited the Mother and Child Center of the Father's House, where victims of domestic violence undergo rehabilitation.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited an apartment where children preparing for adoption live. It features conditions as close as possible to home. The children showed Volodymyr Zelenskyy their rooms.
Roman Korniyko stressed that during the 24 years of the Father's House's, 3,284 educatees came through it. He thanked the Head of State for the laws that simplify the adoption procedure, and told the President about the pupils of the center who found their happiness in families.
"Our children learn to enjoy life. We want others to live better,” Roman Korniyko said.
The children received toys, sweets and a mini-pool as a gift. The President was given candles made by the educatees of the center.
