Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin as regards Russian note: Such actions may imperil the return of our sailors

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin, as he does not coordinate important international steps with the Head of State. In particular, it goes about the response of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the note of the Russian Federation regarding the release of Ukrainian seamen.

"As President of Ukraine, I learn about our international steps from the Internet, or more precisely, from "Ukrayinska Pravda". I am now talking about the note we received from the Russian Federation regarding the return of our seamen and the note sent by the Foreign Ministry in response. I, President of Ukraine, did not see our response to the note of the Russian Federation. Mr. Klimkin does not consider it necessary to discuss such issues with the President of Ukraine. And this is a security issue, a question of life of our citizens. This is the priority of every president whether somebody likes him or not. Assistants, diplomats tell me that such actions may imperil the return of our sailors," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a briefing on June 27.

He reminded that he had appealed to the Verkhovna Rada for the dismissal of Pavlo Klimkin. However, the Parliament voted down the relevant submission.

Also, Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to the President of the Russian Federation regarding the captured Ukrainian sailors.

"I would like to appeal to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin: we all have children. Return children to their parents," the Head of State said in Russian.
