Ukraine and Lithuania are successfully developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the framework of a strategic partnership, which is multidimensional and dynamic, and is always filled with concrete projects and initiatives. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a joint press conference with President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda in Vilnius.
"There is no sphere or industry in which Ukrainians and Lithuanians do not cooperate. The Council of Presidents of Ukraine and Lithuania operates in the political and diplomatic sphere. The Lithuanian-Polish-Ukrainian military brigade operates in the military-defense sphere. The transport and transit sphere are the projects that will be discussed at the level of our infrastructure ministers in these two days. These are the projects of the Viking train and the Four Capitals train. The humanitarian sphere is the Council of Youth Exchange," the Head of State stressed.
He also noted the numerous formats of cooperation between the governments of the two countries, the Verkhovna Rada and the Seimas, relevant agencies.
"Our cooperation is multidimensional and result-oriented," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
At the same time, according to the President of Ukraine, even with the current dynamic cooperation, both countries have many areas and spheres in which they can and are able to achieve much more.
First of all, according to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, it is a question of trade and economic relations, investment and transport-transit cooperation.
"This year we expect that the volume of bilateral trade in goods and services will restore the positive dynamics and indicators of the pre-crisis period. We agreed that we will be able to sum up the results of the relevant work at the end of this year, during the regular meeting of the Council of Presidents of Ukraine and the Republic of Lithuania," he said.
The President of Ukraine also expressed confidence that the Fourth Conference on Reforms in Ukraine held today in Vilnius would be an effective platform for finding new promising ways of cooperation between the two countries and the implementation of our reforms.
For his part, the Lithuanian President noted that today, in the port of Klaipėda, the transport ministers of the two countries will discuss the prospects of cooperation in the field of infrastructure.
"I believe that we should cultivate economic, political and cultural ties," Gitanas Nausėda said.
