As part of his participation in the offsite meeting of the EU-Ukraine Foreign Ministers in Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with the heads of foreign ministries the topical issues of support for our country during the war, integration into the EU, implementation of the Peace Formula and the establishment of an international tribunal to punish the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
The Head of State noted that the seven recommendations that Ukraine had received from the European Commission to start negotiations on accession to the EU were a big step forward and an important motivation for all Ukrainians.
"We will implement all the recommendations. It is very important for us today to live in these specifics. We are a very concrete state. Because in times of war, you have to live up to your promises," he said.
At the same time, the President noted that Ukraine will need to take many more steps and implement relevant reforms in the future.
Answering the question about the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the involvement of so many countries in this process a significant success.
According to him, work is underway to organize the third meeting of national security advisers to world leaders on the key principles of restoring a lasting and just peace for Ukraine.
The President emphasized that representatives of different continents are already talking about their readiness to discuss their peace initiatives on the platform of the Peace Formula. Therefore, the Formula should be the only basis for the future Global Peace Summit. Because it is Ukraine that is the victim of this unprovoked and unjust war, the Head of State emphasized.
"All continents are important to us. If a European country can have an impact on increasing the presence of countries from other continents on the Peace Formula platform, we will be grateful. It is also important to communicate this with your societies, so that societies on other continents will hear about it as well," he added.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said that diplomatic and legal work on various formats of a special international tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine is underway. At the same time, he emphasized that it is not the name that is important for our country, but the fair punishment of all those guilty of the crime of aggression. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the constant dialogues do not lead to the situation when this tribunal will have a format that will not lead to any consequences.
The Head of State also noted that the visit of the EU Foreign Ministers to Kyiv is a powerful signal that Europe stands with Ukraine.
"Helping Ukraine is helping the whole world. If Ukraine falls, Russia will start a big war. And not only on the territory of our country. I am sure that today's resilience of Ukraine is the future resilience of the European continent at the very least. I want to thank you for helping us maintain this resilience," the President summarized.
